Ideas Database

We’ve all been there. There’s a problem at work, and everyone’s looking at you for an answer. And feeling embarrassed, you have to say, I have no idea.

Mortifying, right?

But what if we said there was a way you could make this situation never, ever happen again?

It’s called an Ideas Database.

A simple idea. But one that will supercharge your ability to create, craft and commercialise brighter ideas.

The idea of an Ideas Database

The usual way to solve problems is to dig into your memory and see if you’ve solved a similar problem before. And if you haven’t, you do some research. You see if someone else has already solved a similar problem.

But the challenge with the memory approach is that your memory can be unreliable. Do you remember every idea you’ve ever had? Thought not.

And the challenge with the research approach is that anyone can do that. So the ideas you find will be the exact same ones everyone else finds. Obvious ideas. Is that what you want? Be the same as everyone else?  Thought not.

But there is a third way. Different versions of it have been used by some of the world’s greatest creators, inventors and rebel thinkers throughout history. And it’s not even that hard.

It’s this. Write your ideas down. Then organise them so that when you need an idea in the future, you can use all your past ideas as creative inspiration.

This could be in notebooks. Scrap files. Scribbles on napkins. But these days, technology can help. You can build an Ideas Database to store, organise and search on every idea your business has and will ever have.

You’ll never be short of an idea ever again.

The Three-Brains Ideas Database

Our own Ideas Database started in 2024, though the ideas within it stretch back over 30 years.

At the time of writing, our Ideas Database has 6,324 ideas, and it grows every week.

We use these in all sorts of ways.

To help our customers find new ideas when they face gnarly marketing challenges. To improve our own innovation and communications activities. And of course, to make sure we’re never short of ideas that mean business.
